The Emerald Warriors RFC was formed in August 2003 to provide gay, heterosexual and bisexual men the opportunity to play competitive
rugby in Ireland and internationally.
To date, the Emerald Warriors RFC have over thirty recruits who train three times a week in Dublin. Competitively, the Warriors
have played the King's Cross Steelers, the Manchester Village Spartans and the Caledonian Thebans in friendly low-contact
matches and competed in the Mark Bingham Cup in London in May 2004 where we competed against the Gaillards Parisiens (lost)
the Kings Cross Steeler’s (lost) and the New York Gotham Knights (won). We also took part in the 2004 Dublin Summer
Tag League where we won a cup for second last... Most recently we played and beat the Caledonian Thebans in our first ever
full–length , full-contact competition where we won the inaugural ‘Dalriada Quaiche’. We also competed against
the King’s Cross Steelers on March 26th in Dublin where we were less successful. Our next tournament is the Union Cup
in early May. This is a sevens tournament taking place in Montpellier featuring mainly European teams.
The club is open to anyone with an interest in playing rugby union. No experience is necessary and appropriate levels of fitness
and skills can be attained through training
